Can Shakib Khan's Movie ‘Borbaad’ Earn 100 Crore Taka

Shakib Khan’s new Eid movie ‘Borbaad’ is making headlines for its strong earnings. In just seven days after release, the film has made 27.5 crore taka from ticket sales. The producers are happy and believe the movie may soon reach 100 crore taka in total earnings.

Current Earnings So Far

‘Borbaad’ is now showing in 123 cinemas in Bangladesh, including both single-screen and multiplex halls. Producer Shahreen Akter says the movie made 27.5 crore taka in the first 7 days and another 10 crore in the next 4 days. That means the total so far is about 37 crore taka.

She believes that if the film continues to run well in the next week, it can earn 15 crore taka more, making the total around 52 crore taka.

How Can the Movie Earn More?

According to the producer:

  • The film still has high demand.
  • More people are watching the movie every day.
  • If more showtimes are added, earnings will go up.
  • They believe the film can reach 100 crore taka in 1.5 to 2 months.

International Release Plans

The producers plan to release ‘Borbaad’ in:

  • USA
  • Canada
  • Australia
  • UK
  • Middle East

They hope to earn 10–15 crore taka from international markets. To do that, the film needs to earn around 10 lakh USD abroad. For comparison, the movie ‘Hawa’ earned about 4 lakh USD internationally.

Challenges in Bangladesh

There is no proper box office tracking system in Bangladesh. That makes it hard to know the exact income of any film. Also, some multiplexes are not increasing showtimes for ‘Borbaad’, even though there is demand. But good news is: some cinemas, like Star Cineplex, have already increased show numbers from 34 to 41.

What Experts Say

Some cinema officials believe ‘Borbaad’ can cross 100 crore if:

  • Audience interest stays strong for 3–4 more weeks.
  • Showtimes increase in both multiplex and single-screen halls.
  • It continues to run till next Eid-ul-Azha.

Final Thoughts

In Hollywood or Bollywood, 100 crore taka is not a big deal. But in Bangladesh, it is a big achievement. If things go right, ‘Borbaad’ could be the first Bangladeshi movie to earn 100 crore taka, making history in Dhallywood.
